NEW BOYZ NOMINATED FOR 2010 TEEN CHOICE AWARD

Burbank, CA – Teen rap sensations Ben J and Legacy known holistically as the New Boyz have been nominated for “Best Group” at this year’s Teen Choice Awards. The award comes on the heels of their nomination for the same category at 2010’s BET Awards.
Voted on by the public, the awards will take place on Sunday, August 8th at Los Angeles’ Gibson Amphitheatre to be aired the following night, August 9th, at 8pm ET/PT. Fans are encouraged to vote for the group HERE.
The boys have much to celebrate of their new found success and notoriety as both of their songs, the dance-inducing “You’re A Jerk” and call-to-bachelordom “Tie Me Down” featuring Ray J, have both each been certified as double-platinum singles. The videos combined have received over 60 million views on YouTube and have set viewing records for debuts on Music Choice’s video-on-demand network.
The Cali duo is preparing to drop their next single “Break My Bank” featuring labelmate and “island-pop” crooner Iyaz mid-July. A tongue-and-cheek ode to the crazy (and often fiscally irresponsible) things youth do for love, the song will be the first off of their new album out this September entitled Too Cool To Care.
The New Boyz turned heads with their jovial yet contentious debut album Skinny Jeanz & A Mic last year on Asylum/Warner Bros. Records. A resounding separation from their genre’s stylistic status quo, the effort was labeled as “one of the year’s most charming rap debuts, and certainly the least expected” by the New York Times.
