Here it is! The February 2011 FridaeTV Youtube chart! I must say Girlicious held on strong and it’s sad that two of the remaining three have departed the group leaving Nichole Cordova as the sole femme in Girlicious, I wish her and the rest of the girls the best! There is a mixture of artists that popped into the chart this month like, City And Colour’s – THE GIRL, “Mary Rose Obsession” with their rock cover of Justin Timberlake’s “What Goes Around Come Around” and a few more mostly Canadian artists. MRO recently won Hard Rock Cafe’s 2011 Battle of the Bands and are now representing Canada in the worldwide online competition. The winner wins a spot on stage at Hard Rock’s London Calling, a three-day musical celebration taking place in Hyde Park. This year’s headliner is Bon Jovi, so all the bands are battling it out to open for them. Past headliners include Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, Pearl Jam, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, The Who, Aerosmith, and The Killers.
This month My Darkest Days is #1 both in Canada and The United States who are the biggest MDD fans across the globe by far! Because of the dual #1’s they made it to the top of the overall chart booting Girlicious from their throne! For the first time on the FridaeTV chart My Darkest Days is # 1 in Canada since they made the Canadian stats available. With the release of their new single “Move Your Body” this is just the beginning for this small town Canadian band, they are nominated for a slew of Canadian Awards, will be hitting the road again this month with Papa Roach and Buckcherry and if you miss a show don’t worry I’m sure you will be able to catch them playing some sort of festival somewhere in North America this summer!
