BREACHED CD RELEASE PARTY
FT. BLIND RACE, EXIT SEEKERS & LEFT TURN CITY
MINI EDITORIAL REVIEW

This weekend I though ok a show must be seen because I have been slacking and focusing all my attention on my short film so I thought why not hit a small local show by a promoter I know and respect. Of The Bear Bookings presented the Breached Cd release party last Saturday night at the El Mocambo in downtown Toronto’s China Town just south of College on Spadina. A world famous venue whose stage has had the likes of Marilyn Monroe, Rolling Stones, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimi Hendrix and the list goes on perform their hearts out for the people of Toronto to witness.
I’m no stranger to the ELMO as we Torontonian’s call it, a number of bands were playing but I only caught four of those on the bill. A band played during every change over on the second stage, the band Exit Seekers were pretty good considering the set up of the second stage. Blind Race played the main stage and totally killed it, by far one of the best bands vocally that I have heard in a while, not to mention Axemaster’s skills are sick!
The band whose CD release party it was took the stage, Breached had a tight sound but need to work on vocals, the instruments were drowning the vox out. You either lower the Guitar levels or turn up the vocal levels and always sing from the diaphragm to ensure the best possible sound in case moments of technical issues arise which is extremely common. And the last band I caught but only two tracks was Left Turn City who I have seen once before. Musically they have tightened up but vocally the guitar still drowns out vox and that was two or three years ago. Just from one performance you can clearly tell whose a stronger contender when it comes to achieving success in this industry. All of the bands I saw I would see again but they all need to work on their songwriting if they want to be signed by a major and play with the big boys, they all have to turn it up a few notches.
