ONE BAD SON RELEASE SELF-TITLED ALBUM THROUGH
604 RECORDS ON SEPTEMBER 25, 2012

 
TORONTO, ON – Vancouver-based rockers, One Bad Son will release their self-titled album (604 Records/Universal Music Canada) on September 25, 2012. The 11-track record is produced by Default’s Danny Craig and features their first single, “Rustbucket.” The single is currently in strong rotation at Active Rock and Alternative Rock stations across Canada. The band who formed in Saskatoon in 2004, consists of members Shane Volk (lead vocals), Adam Hicks (guitar), Adam Grant (bass guitar) and Kurt Dahl (drums). “I’d say that we’ve made the kind of album that we’ve been waiting to hear for years,” says Volk. “Big, real rock, that’s not a cheesy throwback, nor does it take itself too seriously.  We hope it’s the record the world has been waiting for as well.”
 
Recorded at producer Craig’s Coach House Studios in Vancouver, the album channels the energy of One Bad Son’s live shows and adds a new dimension to their already diverse sound. The album incorporates everything from grunge to ’70s-inspired hard rock guitar riffs.
 
After opening for Default in 2008, One Bad Son caught the attention of Craig who connected them with 604 Records. “In a time where rock radio is drowning in hipster girly drinks, One Bad Son brings the whiskey!” says Craig. “They take me back to when being a rock band was about genuine raw emotion. No gimmicks, no fakers, only full tilt awesome all the time.” The band then signed a deal with the 604 Records in late 2010 and continues to build their presence playing alongside acts like Godsmack and Buckcherry.
 
One Bad Son will be playing select dates across western Canada this fall to support the new album.
